The non-profit association „Adventure Life“ forms an intercultural community of socially engaged people of different generations: counselors, therapists, healers and social and cultural activists.
The association offers hero’s journey seminars for participants from one or more cultures and focuses both on the education and training of „hero’s journey facilitators“ and on the development and inclusion of new spaces and methods in own fields of work. Our common path aims to further strengthen the work of inclusion of people in crisis and socially marginalized people or groups by using the “cycle of basic feelings“ (Machleidt/Weule) and the experiences in the hero’s journey trainings according to Paul Rebillot to live a togetherness in diversity. In this way, the respect for our natural resources, our history and our partner relationship with all living beings can be deepened again.
Our first international Hero’s Journey training was funded by „EU Youth Program“ and took place in Austria in 2006. It was led by Helga and Manfred Weule, who were authorized by Paul Rebillot to guide and teach his HJ seminar.
The participants founded the association „Adventure Life“ in 2007. The 19 founding members came from Czech Republic, Austria, Germany and Switzerland. Until 2021, many Hero’s Journey trainings took place in A, CZ, SK, I and ES.
A training curriculum for Hero’s Journey facilitators was developed in annual facilitator trainings and the goal of the association was expanded from youth mentoring to adult education: AL was founded under the motto „It Takes a Village to Raise a Child.“ Now the motto is „It needs community to grow up and to live the adventure.“
